Out and About – Peony Hall of Fame

This past spring we had the chance to go crazy with peonies.  They were so gorgeous this year!  Throughout the design process, we would stop and admire certain peonies that just made us smile.  Below are some pictures I took with my super professional and high tech iPhone.

I loved how these peonies opened up to a big yellow center.  It reminded me of something you would see at the bottom of the ocean.  (Pardon the mess, it was take in the infamous “kidnapper van”)

This stunner was one of the MANY gorgeous ones that came in.  How can anyone hate the color pink after looking at this pretty girl?

I really wish I could show everyone this red peony in person.  Pictures just don’t do it any justice.   All the ruffles!  I think Stacey and I petted and kissed it at least a few dozen times.

We’ve rarely seen yellow peonies, so its always a treat when we can get these babies in.  We actually brought some with us to Dallas for the filming of “My Fair Wedding” with David Tutera.  I think David almost fell over when we showed up these yellow peonies.    They are as big as someone’s head.  Amazing.

I leave you all with a classic “white” peony.  As you can see, white is a broad term according to Mother Nature.  We love you just the same, even if you are peachy white-ish pink.

Sad peony season is over?  Well, in most areas it is.  Since we are our own wholesalers, we can find growers/distributors worldwide who can provide seasonal flowers in the states, all year long.  So, its not goodbye, dear sweet peonies.  Its only the beginning.

Visit from The Knot

Stacey and I worked our booties off these past couple of days prepping the studio/shop for our TV appearance on The Knot. You would think we’d be professionals by now from all of our David Tutera experience! We wanted to show you a sneak peak of what we were showing off today. :)

Petal Pushers Helps Turn Two Near-Disaster Weddings Into Dream Weddings on WE Television Series “My Fair Wedding with David Tutera”

Austin, Texas – When celebrity wedding planner David Tutera needed a floral designer for two Texas weddings with less than three weeks to spare, Petal Pushers came to the rescue. On two upcoming “My Fair Wedding” episodes, Petal Pushers enhanced Tutera’s elaborate vision by bringing their personal style to the projects.

WE TV’s original series brings in a “dream team,” led by celebrity planner David Tutera, to revise a bride’s wedding vision. From changing the venue, décor and even the dress, David refines the couple’s vision with his “RE-visions”.

Two episodes with differing wedding themes were filmed in the Dallas area, using local resources and vendors. From Hollywood Diva style to Country Chic, Petal Pushers contributed their talent, floral design, and props.

“My Fair Wedding with David Tutera” airs on Sunday nights, 9PM Central time. Petal Pusher’s episodes begin on Sunday, July 4, 2010, starting with “Diva Bride”.

“We are so excited for this opportunity for Petal Pushers and for all our Texas vendors. We have amazing talent here, and it’s fabulous that we were able to share it with David Tutera and all of WE TV’s viewers”, says Stacey Hogge, owner and designer of Petal Pushers. “We are grateful to everyone involved and loved being a part of going above and beyond the brides’ wedding vision to give these two couples their dream wedding.”

Destination Wedding in Naples, Florida – Part Two

We absolutely loved the all white floral color scheme in Naples.  Our main flowers were white peonies and white phalaenopsis orchids.  How can you go wrong?  The only sad part was we couldn’t take the flowers back with us to Texas.  It darn near broke our hearts.  I think I even saw Stacey shed a little tear for those orchids during the breakdown of wedding.

One of our favorite chuppah’s to date:

It was covered in moss, orchids, roses, peonies, amaranthus, stock – you name it.  LOOOOVED it!

Below are more pictures of the stunning wedding.  Don’t forget to check it out on Style Me Pretty here.

Destination Wedding in Naples – Part One

When Courtney Caplan of Caplan Miller Events asked us to design her brother’s wedding, we were so honored she chose us!  Its such a compliment when we get referrals from our favorite event producers, but an even BIGGER compliment when asked to do their family’s events.  Then she mentioned it was going to be in Naples, Florida at the Ritz Carlton.  We. Were. Floored.  We loaded up our van and had a road crew bring all over our favorite vases and vessels just for Lizzy and Kevin (the bride and groom).  Stacey and I flew into Miami a few days prior and finally got to meet all of our growers and distributors that we’ve spoken to over the phone and emailed for years, but never put faces to the names!  It was so fun to actually see the warehouses and facilities and make some new friends.

The next few days went by really fast with designing, designing and more designing.  Unfortunately, the only time we had a chance to see and touch the beach was at 2am after all the design work was completed each night.  We hear its lovely in the daylight!

These pictures are from the fabulous rehearsal dinner Courtney and her team put on poolside at the Ritz.  From fire breathers to a steel drum band, no detail was overlooked.  Find more details being featured on Style Me Pretty this week!  Up next, the wedding…

Lauren’s Wedding in Style Me Pretty

We never get tired of Style Me Pretty’s inspirations and blog, as we especially NEVER get tired of being featured on their website.  Yay us!  Yay Caplan Miller!  Yay Jake Holt!  (Lets do it again, y’all! )

Style Me Pretty and Vista West Ranch

We did it again! We landed on the front page of Style Me Pretty again for Amanda & Jamie’s wedding at Vista West Ranch. Of course we’re a little partial to Vista West Ranch, but it really is stunning. With the wonderful help of Aimee of Lizze Belle Event Planning and to the endless talent of The Nichols Photography, we helped create a beautiful affair for a fantastic couple. And to FILO Lighting for all their amazing work, without them are designs would be left in the dark! Literally!!

The overall feeling was vintage and natural. “Just-picked” feeling was all over the place from the bud vases for centerpieces to the french buckets along the ceremony aisle. We adored the color palette of peaches and grays. SO YUMMY!

We have a saying over here at the studio when we love something: “I die” We totally “died” over this bouquet. In fact, Cindy at Vista West Ranch said it was her favorite bouquet – ever! And, she’s seen a lot of bouquets!!
